This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how information is collected and used by Happy Things, Inc. (“Happy Things” or “we”, “us”, “our”) on the Happy Things application (the “App”).

We respect your right to privacy and understand the importance of protecting your personal data (“Personal Data”).

• To use the App, you must register and provide payment details.

• We will collect and process your Personal Data only for the purposes listed in this Policy. We will not process your Personal Data for other purposes without obtaining your prior consent.

• We will not share your information with third parties except as detailed in this Policy.

• We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 13. Please contact us if you believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Data to us.

Personal Data We Collect

We collect your Personal Data as follows:

Personal Data You Provide

Registration Data. When you join our App, we collect your chosen username (which may be either your real name or any other name you choose). You may choose to provide your gender and date of birth, your happiness goals and your current happiness status.

Payment Data. Registration and use of the App are subject to payment of a subscription fee. Therefore, we will collect your Apple Pay Account details, or the details of any other payment method that we may permit – and you choose to use.

Activity Data. When you use the App, we collect information about the Things you have done and any other information you share or content you upload regarding those Things (e.g., a picture or description of a video you watched that made you laugh), the Things you saved, and the Things you asked us to remind you to do later. We also collect your happiness score each time you perform a happiness check-in on the App. None of your Activity Data will be available to others, unless you share it yourself.

Inquiry Data. When you contact us using our App chat or via email, we collect any information you choose to share.

 

You are not legally obligated to provide your personal information. However, if you choose to not share this information with us, we may not be able to create your account, allow you to access the App or enable you to use some of the features on our App.

Personal Data We Collect Automatically

Analytics. When you use the App, we record and collect certain information about your use of the App and your interactions with it, including your time and date of access, buttons and links clicked, and other actions taken while using the App. This information does not identify you directly.

 

How We Use Your Personal Data

We may use Personal Data for the following purposes:

• To create your account and provide our services, including calculating your happiness score and creating your Things timeline;

• To process your payment for your chosen subscription plan.

• To offer you personalized content and activities;

• To allow you to contact us and to respond to your inquiries and questions;

• To send you, from time to time, marketing messages and other administrative messages or updates regarding the App;

• To analyze and monitor the Analytics Information and transfer it to third parties. This information will not identify you personally;

• To operate, administrate, enhance and further develope the App and its features, and to develop new products and services;

• To prevent fraud, criminal activity, or misuses of our App, and to ensure the security of our IT systems, architecture and networks;

• To enforce this Policy and the Terms of Use;

• To comply with legal requirements;

• For any other purpose as detailed in this Policy or the Terms of Use.

Sharing and Disclosure of Personal Data

We will not share your information with third parties without your express consent, except in the following events:

• We will store your personal information and process your Payment Data and Analytics information with the assistance of our service providers. These companies are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide these services to us and not for their own promotional purposes.

• We will share your personal information with competent authorities and other third parties (such as legal counsels and advisors), if: (i) you have abused your right to use the App, or violated any applicable law; or (ii) we are required to do so by a judicial, governmental or regulatory authority;

• If the operation of Happy Things is organized within a different framework, or through another legal structure or entity, we will share your information only as required to enable the structural change in the operation of the organization.

 

The third parties whom we share information with may be located outside of the United States. If we transfer your personal data for processing at locations outside of the United States, we will abide by data transfer rules applicable to these situations.

 

Data Retention and Security

We retain Personal Data for as long as required to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law. In any way, we may, in our discretion, anonymize, pseudonymize or delete the information.

We implement measures to reduce the risks of damage, loss of information and unauthorized access or use of information. However, these measures do not provide absolute information security. Therefore, although efforts are made to secure personal information, it is not guaranteed, and you cannot expect that the Website will be immune from information security risks.

The App may contain links to third party websites and pages, including social media services, which are not operated or controlled by Happy Things (“Third Party Sites”). Those Third Party Sites and the information that you share with them are governed by the specific privacy policies and terms of service of the Third Party Sites and not by this Privacy Policy. Your Rights

Right to Access Information. You have the right to request us to disclose all the Personal Data we collected about you.

Right to Request Rectification or Deletion. If, upon review of your Personal Data that we collected, you find this data (or some of it) to be incorrect, incomplete, unclear, or outdated, you may request that we rectify or delete it. If we cannot go through with your request, we will inform you of that in the manner set forth by law.

Children’s Information

Our App and the services offered therein are not directed to children who are under the age of 13, and Happy Things does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 13. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Data to Happy Things through the App, please contact us and we will endeavour to delete that information from our databases.

 

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

‍We may, from time to time and in our sole discretion, modify this Privacy Policy. If we do so, we will make efforts to proactively notify you of such changes. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the amended policy, constitutes your consent to the amended policy. The latest version of the Policy will always be accessible on the App.
